JAMES VIRAS

James Viras brings nearly two decades of golf facility management and operational leadership to Brooke Management Group. For the past 17 years, he has been a key member of the leadership team at Harbor Links Golf Course, where he has played an integral role in the growth and evolution of the facility.

​

James earned a B.S. in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management from Pennsylvania State University, with a concentration in Professional Golf Management and a minor in Business. He began his career in Florida as an Assistant Golf Professional on Marco Island before joining Harbor Links as Director of Golf in 2008. In 2017, he was promoted to General Manager.

Today, James serves as Chief Operating Officer for Brooke Management Group, providing operational oversight across BMG's growing portfolio of public and municipal golf facilities. His responsibilities include Harbor Links Golf Course, Bethpage State Park, Montauk Downs State Park Golf Course, Pine Ridge Golf Club, and the golf operations at Merrick and Lido Golf Courses.

In his role, James oversees facility operations, financial performance, budgeting, staff development, customer service, capital improvement projects, and the implementation of new revenue-producing programs and technology. His addition of Pine Ridge to his portfolio has further expanded his experience to include the transition and improvement of a newly acquired golf operation, including membership operations, facility improvements, course and driving-range enhancements, and the introduction of new technology and amenities.

James's extensive background in golf operations, event sales, financial management, and customer service gives him a strong understanding of both the day-to-day requirements of a successful public golf facility and the long-term planning necessary to improve its performance. Working closely with BMG's facility managers and leadership team, he focuses on maintaining operational standards, identifying opportunities for revenue growth, developing staff, and continually enhancing the golfer experience across the BMG portfolio.
